The Command and Signal Foundation empowers disabled Military Veterans through Art, Creative Expression, and a Purpose-Driven Community.

Learn:

Creative Foundations

Veterans begin with guided instruction in the essential elements of storytelling—writing, illustration, visual composition, and narrative structure. This phase offers structured, judgment-free learning and creative exploration.

    • Introduction to visual storytelling, narrative writing, and comics
    • Foundational art and writing exercises
    • Peer-supported creative development

Reflect:

Processing Trauma Through Illustration and Narrative

Participants are guided to explore personal experiences through structured creative prompts and expressive mediums. Story becomes a safe container for reflection and growth.

    • Narrative therapy-inspired techniques
    • Journaling, sketching, and storyboarding from lived experience
    • Opportunities to share creative progress, if desired, in a private and non-critical space

    Rebuild:

    Reclaiming Identity and Purpose

Veterans begin turning their creative voice into something tangible and mission-driven. This phase helps them rebuild a sense of agency and direction in both life and art.

      • Project planning and idea development
      • Reframing identity through storytelling
      • Group work, mentorship, and skill sharpening

    Publish:

    Bringing Stories to Life

Participants move toward real-world outcomes, preparing their work for publication through the Foundation, Publishers, or independently.

      • Editing, formatting, and production mentorship
      • Opportunities to publish in Command and Signal anthologies or solo projects
      • Digital and print publishing paths introduced

    Share:

Connecting With Others and Fostering Outreach

Veterans use their stories to connect, mentor, and inspire others—at conventions, workshops, and community events.

      • Showcase work in safe, supportive spaces
      • Build presence at veteran expos and industry conventions
      • Transition from participant to leader, mentor, creator

    CRPTS Framework Disclaimer:

CRPTS, or Combat-Related Post Trauma Syndrome, is a peer-developed field framework created to describe a common operating-state pattern observed in some direct-action Combat Veterans, including its effects on physiology, identity, relationships, and daily functioning.

CRPTS does not replace clinical diagnosis. PTSD remains an important recognized diagnosis for identifying trauma-related symptoms and establishing clinical care.

CSF does not provide medical or mental health diagnosis, therapy, or crisis treatment. LRRP(S) is a peer-led educational and community pipeline centered on disciplined creative practice, structured self-observation, and long-term reorganization.
